The Heart Failure Patient Foundation wants to provide you with the most up-to-date information to all you to make the best decisions regarding your treatment. Currently  individuals diagnosed with heart failure are treated based on what is called the best evidence or clinical guidelines. These guidelines are developed to help healthcare providers with the best recommendations, knowing that everyone is an individual and responses to treatment vary. These recommendations are regularly reviewed and updated and typically come out of leading cardiology organizations such as the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and The Heart Failure Society of America. Other countries with similar organizations also develop guidelines.

To better understand the recommendations, we have layperson friendly summaries of some of the key research studies that have led to specific recommendations and are adding new summaries regularly.
